✈️ Flight Planner

Create a flight plan to easily alert users of a new flight. Lets see how its done!

Getting Started

Before you can use our flight planner command, you need to ensure you have the correct permissions.

USER PERMISSIONS:

Users are required to have the MANAGE_MESSAGES permission in order to excute the command. Why? This is to prevent non-staff users in major servers from using the command to clog up other channels - In a future update, servers will be able to allocate specific people permission to use the command.

BOT PERMISSIONS:

For Aircraft Bot to send the flight plan to the desired channel, you will need to ensure that:

  1. The selected channel is a text based channel (i.e. not a threads channel).

  2. The bot has permission to send messages in the selected channel.

Using the Command

When you first view the command, it may look confusing, but by following this guide, you'll have no issues.

  • Description: This is where you provide a description of the flight plan, for example, "We are hosting a flight to celebrate 500 members!"

  • Flight Number: This is where you input what number of flight it is, for example, "FR745"

  • Route: This is where you enter the route your flight will be taking, for example, "LHR-JFK"

  • Gate: This is where you enter the gate users will be boarding from.

  • Boarding Time: This is the time passengers will begin boarding the aircraft at. It is important you follow the required format, otherwise an error will occur. Times are auto-converted into the users timezone. In order to achieve this, you will need to enter the time as followed: "2PM = 14:00", "12am: = 00:00" and so on.

  • Departure Time: This is the time the flight is due to leave the gat at. Once again, it is important you follow the same format as the boarding time, otherwise you'll receive an error.

  • Aircraft: This is where you enter the type of aircraft being used on the flight, e.g. Boeing 737

  • Game Link: This is where you provide a link for users to join through. You must provide a valid URL, otherwise an error will occur. For example, PTFS airline servers may provide a link to the private server.

  • Channel: This is the channel you want to send the flight plan to. You must ensure the bot has permission to send messages in that channel and that it is a text based channel (i.e. not a threads channel), otherwise an error will occur.

  • Notes: This is an optional field and not required for all flight plans. Here you can add additional information about the flight plan, for example, "Please arrive early to prevent delays".

  • ping & ping2: These are both optional as well. This is where you would select a role to ping, allowing users to receive a direct notification. You way wish to ping a passenger role.

  • Image: This is also not required and is optional. Here you can add an image to the flight plan, such as an advert for your server.

  • Thumbnail: This is not required either. This is similar to the image, except it is smaller and appears at the top of the flight plan. Here you way wish to add your servers logo.
